Probably one of the oldest written about characters with huge popularity, would be Hercules. Of all the Greek myths and legends, he seems to be the one that has stood out the most. The likes of Zeus and Hera were always around and continue to be, but Hercules always seems to take front and center in most stories. And why not? He was an ancient times Superman, without the kryptonite. How many times have you seen him portrayed in a story?
He is everywhere, even has a comic if I'm not mistaken
ReplyDeletefunny you should mention superman as i am sure hercules played into his creation...and many other superheroes...
ReplyDeleteHercules was my hero before superman came along.... then I never really did like superman.
ReplyDeleteWe have the kids version on VHS and DVD. My boys love Hercules.
ReplyDeleteA true original for sure.
ReplyDeleteI have only seen the kid's version. I'm surprised, with all the remakes these days, that therer hasn't been a big-budget blockbuster made ab out him yet.
ReplyDeleteSeen the disney one and the tv show, enjoyed both. That hallmark movie blew arse though.
ReplyDeleteIf you take his body building course, no one can kick sand in your face when on the beach anymore. LOL
ReplyDeletemore times than I can count
ReplyDeletei loved the hercules tv show...ahem
ReplyDeleteI've only seen the Disney version. My little brother used to watch it on repeat. I kind of hate Hercules now lol.
ReplyDeleteI always imagined him taller and with clothes on. lol
ReplyDeleteIt's seen the Disney version. I can't remember if I've seen any other versions.
I can't say I've ever seen Hercules as a baby!
ReplyDeleteSomehow both are imprinted into young minds. They're good elements to hold their sights. But sadly things have changed these days. Electronic games with all the violence seem to have more appeal! Nicely!
