Atticus Finch
Who would have guessed a lawyer could turn out to be such a fine character? That is like some kind of oxymoron right there. But Atticus Finch sure struck a cord with readers through the ages and many lawyers have even been said to try and become more like him. It's just to bad not many do. But that just proves what a powerful character he was, as he has to be for lawyers to look up to him. The only thing they usually look up at is their stacks of money. Ever met a lawyer like Finch?

Can't say many lawyers are like him, some pretend to be though.
ReplyDeleteNever!! Ever!! They just don't make lawyers like that very often. They are few and far between
ReplyDeleteha. there are a few altruistic ones out there....mostly in fiction though...smiles.
ReplyDeleteYeah never saw one either, they are all about the dough
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting the types of law lawyers will go in to. I work for local government, on the city level. Government will never pay what the private sector does, so lawyers who seeks employment in government do it for other reasons than salary. I'm impressed with the caliber of our attorneys. It's nice to know they do exist.
ReplyDeleteI know a few lawyers who do their Pro Buono (sp) work on one day a week.
ReplyDeleteI'll admit I've never read the book. *hangs head in shame*
ReplyDeleteI've never met one like that. Not even close. I assumed that's why this was a work of fiction. :)
ReplyDeleteI read this in 9th grade
ReplyDeleteAtticus Finch was not only a great lawyer but also a man of strong beliefs and integrity. I think that is the main thing I learned from his character and Gregory Peck's portrayal. Finch lived his beliefs. He was a dedicated father and friend. He was fearless, even in the face of a lynch mob.
ReplyDeleteThe lawyer-part of Finch's character was a natural extension of his strength.
Obviously I loved this book and this movie.
I have only met one. She is the child services lawyer in our local area. Such an upstanding woman. All the rest though...eh not so much.
ReplyDeleteCan't say I have. I love the name Atticus Finch. It's so unusual!
