Burg of Forchtenstein

One thing I enjoy is castles and researched a few when writing Sultan of Monte Cristo. So I thought I'd show a few off this week.

Burg of Forchtenstein

Its position is said to be so invincible that the Turks failed to sieze it twice, in 1529 and 1683. It has walls that are 40 feet thick and resides in Austria. As with most castles now a days you can tour it too.

  3. Forty feet thick would leave the inside no bigger than a sardine tin. Maybe.

  4. That would almost be like a cave with forty feet thick walls. I have never been to a castle, but have read about them in books and on the net.

  6. Have been to many castles. The ones with good foundations (like 40 feet thick) are still standing.
